A general variance predictor for Cavalieri slices

A general variance predictor is presented for a Cavalieri design with slices of an arbitrary thickness t ≥ 0. So far, prediction formulae have been available either for measurement functions with smoothness constant q = 0, 1, … , and t ≥ 0, or for fractional q ∈ [0, 1] with t = 0. Because the possibility of using a fractional q adds flexibility to the variance prediction, we have extended the latter for any q ∈ [0, 1] and t ≥ 0. Empirical checks with previously published human brain data suggest an improved performance of the new prediction formula with respect to the hitherto available ones.

Index of critical points in rational l-approximation

This article is concerned with the l²-approximation of a given transfer function f by a rational one whose order is prescribed. We show that the sum of the indices of the critical points of the criterion is generically equal to 1, and in particular does not depend on f.

探讨了催化裂化过程降低汽油烯烃的反应原理，研究了催化剂各组分对裂化汽油性质影响的规律性，围绕提高氢转移活性，提出制备降烯烃裂化催化剂的技术路线，并研制开发了新型LBO-12降烯烃催化剂，固定流化床反应器对中试样品的评价和工业应用结果表明，该催化剂在不损失汽油辛烷值的前提下，降低催化裂化汽油烯烃能力较强，并具有较高的水热活性稳定性和良好的抗重金属污染特性。

Water and salt permeability of reinforcement polymer‐gel composite membrane

The charged mosaic polymer membrane (CMM) without reinforcement and the composite charged mosaic polymer membrane (CCMM) with reinforcement were investigated in terms of salt and water transport (permeability). The composite charged mosaic polymer membrane (CCMM) with reinforcement showed a unique transport behavior such as preferential material transport L_p and ω. Water permeability coefficient, L_p and salt permeability coefficient, ω were estimated by taking account of active layer thickness of composite polymer gel. The L_p and ω values of CCMM with reinforcement were larger than those of CMM without reinforcement. On the other hand, the reflection coefficient of CCMM, σ, showed negative value, which suggested preferential material transport to solvent transport. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
